Welcome to Echelon Australian Shepherds. We are located in the beautiful Pacific NW, less than an hour east of Seattle, Washington. In the beginning, my love for dogs started with Shelties, had two growing up and then two on my own. Over fifteen years ago we went to an AKC dog show at Seattle Center and I was incredibly drawn to the breed ring where the Australian Shepherds were showing; loved their beautiful movement and look. After visiting with several, one of them very sweetly crawled into my lap..... and decided this was the breed for me! (or vice versa :) I have a coaster that best sums it up: "Life without Aussies, I don't think so".

The Australian Shepherd is a very loving, intelligent, active breed, with loads of personality. They like to snuggle and will happily choose to be your shadow. They LOVE training, playing, showing and trialing in Agility, Obedience, Rally, Herding, Therapy and Conformation.

Echelon Australian Shepherds is dedicated to the health and promotion of this versatile breed. Since we are a small kennel, I do not breed often. Most of the puppies are placed in loving family homes, with a limited (not for breeding) AKC/ASCA registration. We health check and certify with OFA & CERF the sire and dam for hips, eyes and temperament.

I am a member of the Australian Shepherd Club of America (ASCA), the United States Australian Shepherd Association (USASA), Western Washington Australian Shepherd Association (WWASA), and the Australian Shepherd Club of Washington (ASC of WA).

The name Echelon was chosen for its meaning: An organizational level of responsibility, a line of bearing (as in a pedigree) with each one a higher ranking than the last (as in a line of birds or airplanes flying in step-like formation) i.e. ‘in echelon formation’.

In addition to my dog activities, I am also a graphic designer/illustrator. See Cre8Design. You may also see Cre8Design1 & Cre8Design2 for the WWASA Logo and ASCA Agility t-shirt designs.

I am so very thankful for all of the friends, family, mentors, and
trainers who have helped and inspired us along the way. ~ Lauré
